Welcome to a new school year! My name is Natalie Higby and I am so delighted to teach third grade at Eanes Elementary! I feel fortunate to be part of the wonderful community at Eanes and I look forward to a year of exploration and learning.

To start off, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself both personally and professionally. A native of the Lone Star State, I grew up in Dallas and remained in the Texas school system throughout my education. I am huge health and fitness geek, and I plan to start my precision nutrition certification this fall. I also love to travel and explore the outdoors!
I have a genuine passion for developing and executing impactful education strategies for my students and have been fortunate to serve in leadership roles to do so. This will be my second year as the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) teacher representative, and I am also on our school based Professional Learning Community Coalition (PLC). I graduated from Texas State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Education. My certifications are for EC-sixth grade, and English as a second language. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, and I hope to instill that same growth mindset with my students. One of my biggest goals for the year is to provide your children with innovative education techniques with the intention of retaining engagement and excitement to come to school every day. In this unique community of leaders and industry disruptors, I aim to make your children feel empowered to utilize their individual strengths and set them up for a successful future. I understand that long term memory is connected to emotion, and children are more likely to retain information if they are happy and feel valued at school. I feel that a safe and respectful classroom is imperative to success, and aim to understand each child’s strengths to optimize their potential. I feel as though open lines of communication between the parent, student, and teachers are the key to promoting and educational climate that is conducive to learning. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or celebrations! |
